Lamjung Samaj UK Summer get together on Saturday 26 Jul 2014 By Jay Dura

It was fascinating to meet and greet all my Lamjung’s brothers and sisters at the “Summer BBQ Party” on 26th July 2014. My family and I had a great time; we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I am very sure you did too. The party atmosphere was fantastic and it was a great opportunity to reawaken all those old memories of Hong Kong, Brunei and the UK; more importantly, meeting childhood friends and colleagues from my village area in Nepal brought a big smile to my face. This kind of social event is very important to help ease off the stresses and the hustle & bustle of UK life. For the younger generation, it plays a vital role in educating them about our ancestors and understanding the value of friendship and brotherhood in the UK and Nepal, which shape our spirit and character. It helps us to promote and preserve our cultural and traditional values of “who we are and where we come from”. United, we can do lots for the benefit of the community in the UK and back in Nepal too. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the executive community members for their hard work on the day and throughout the year. I would also like to thank those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event such a successful and memorable one - the food and drink teams, the sports and cultural dance teams and, of course, all those attendees who travelled from far and wide to get to the event.

I hope to see you all again soon, and wish you all the best. I hope you enjoy the photo news; I do apologise if you don’t find the photos elegant and humorous!
